Community Forge's strategy advisor gives Ted talk on Currencies
Over 200 European media industry professionals learned about the importance of complementary currencies from Community Forge's advisor, Professor Jem Bendell, at a TEDx event in Rome. Organised by The European Broadcasting Union, TEDxTransmedia provided a platform for sharing ideas on how new media and broadcast media can interface to promote positive social change.
CSR Geneva invites CommunityForge to lead discussion on Money
Corporate Social Responsability Geneva invited CommunityForge to lead a discussion on money during it's Fortright Films series at AOM Solutions center in Geneva.
After the viewing of Money as Debt, participants discussed the effects of fractional reserve money and it's effects on people and planet.
The discussion then turned to examples of the creation of local currencies, and the positive effects they have on shifting the notion of value over to the sustainable balance between people and their environment.
Community Forge and Community Tools joint statement of intent
Community Forge and Community Tools are pleased to announce their intention to work together on a software platform to support the activities of real-world communities. We intend to build reusable software components and supply them to local governments and community groups who understand the profound need to build local infrastructure and organise at the local level.

At the annual summer National InterSEL camp in France, we held a one-day workshop and set up our free tool for 19 communities; training community leaders to manage their activities and accounts. Local Economies were set up in Paris, Lyon, Orléans, Bordeaux, Lille, Toulouse, Nantes, Niort and others

Over 20 people trained in Bruxelles
Very valuable training seminar at the Community Forge workshop in Brussels last weekend—an extended one at that, since it began on Friday with the level 1 training course, a short pause on Saturday to allow those who wanted to visit the Drupal Developers Days beheld in the Université libre de Bruxelles, and continuation on Sunday and Monday with courses of the 2nd and 3rd levels respectively.
