Wendell Berry's 17 Rules For A Sustainable Economy
1. Always ask of any proposed change or innovation: What will this do to our community? How will this affect our common wealth.
2. Always include local nature – the land, the water, the air, the native creatures – within the membership of the community.
3. Always ask how local needs might be supplied from local sources, including the mutual help of neighbors.
4. Always supply local needs first (and only then think of exporting products – first to nearby cities, then to others).
Report on the CommunityForge CC Strategy Retreat
John Rogers reports:
Eat, drink, tell stories, laugh, debate: all with one purpose – to redesign money.
Or at least to discover new possibilities for different kinds of monies. That was the goal of 20+ participants at Community Forge’s second annual ‘currency retreat’ at the Tiocan Eco-Centre high above Lake Geneva on the weekend of February 4th and 6th 2012:

CSR Geneva invites CommunityForge to lead discussion on Money
Corporate Social Responsability Geneva invited CommunityForge to lead a discussion on money during it's Fortright Films series at AOM Solutions center in Geneva.
After the viewing of Money as Debt, participants discussed the effects of fractional reserve money and it's effects on people and planet.
The discussion then turned to examples of the creation of local currencies, and the positive effects they have on shifting the notion of value over to the sustainable balance between people and their environment.
